In June of 2007, Council endorsed the results of the Long-term Economic Development Mission, accepting the Mission Statement below, and a new framework for considering new economic development opportunities. All efforts of the Economic Development Department are targeted toward meeting the new mission.

We would like to work with those who have new ideas or economic development opportunities to capture the basic premise of the opportunity in a simple and concise manner. A Prevaluation Form has been developed to collect this information, and assist in presenting and fairly considering the potential benefits and costs. As the proponent, someone who has a new idea or economic development opportunity, you should then contact the appropriate member of the Economic Development staff to discuss the opportunity. A detailed explanation of the procedures and organization of the new economic opportunities process is provided in the following link:
