$1.3 million Bobcaygeon road and sewer construction to begin in March

February 10, 2015 - BOBCAYGEON – Beginning in early March contractors will begin a four-month project to install a storm sewer system and ‘urbanize’ Front Street East and Anne Street in Bobcaygeon.

The initial $1.3 million investment will see the installation of a storm sewer system with a small amount of watermain work to facilitate the storm sewer.

“This is the first phase of a three year plan to improve and enhance the infrastructure in Bobcaygeon,” explained Ron Taylor, Director of Development Services. “The initial $1.3 million investment in 2015 is a major commitment to address the infrastructure needs in Bobcaygeon.”

As part of the project, Front Street East and Anne Street will also have curb, gutters and sidewalks installed as well as new asphalt.

Motorists will see that both Front Street East and Anne Street are posted as ‘Closed – local traffic only’ once construction begins. Motorists are encouraged to use Main Street and Duke Street to avoid the construction area.

Once complete the project will provide significantly better water drainage in the area.

The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of June 2015.

Phase 2 and Phase 3 are subject to Council approval in future budget years.
