$1.3 million Bobcaygeon road and sewer project on schedule

May 5, 2015 - A four-month project to install a storm sewer system and ‘urbanize’ Front Street East and Anne Street in Bobcaygeon is on schedule to be completed by June 30.

For the past two months construction crews have been installing a storm sewer system with a small amount of watermain work to facilitate the storm sewer. As part of the $1.3 million project Front Street East and Anne Street will also have curb, gutters and sidewalks installed as well as new asphalt.

The current project is the first phase of a three year plan to improve and enhance the infrastructure in Bobcaygeon.

Once complete the project will provide significantly better water drainage in the area.

“Work has progressed well and we are on schedule to have the project completed by the end of June,” said Supervisor of Infrastructure, Design and Construction Corby Purdy.

Phase 2 and Phase 3 are subject to Council approval in future budget years.
