Burn Ban in effect
March 28, 2011 - Due to extremely dry conditions throughout the city Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service is implementing a complete burn ban until April 30th.
All burn permits are on hold until further notice and fires are prohibited under City of Kawartha Lakes By-law 2008-215. Under section 8.03 of the by-law those setting a fire during a burn ban can be charged under the Provincial Offences Act and will also be responsible for the costs of fire control.
