Burnt River water levels have peaked

April 13, 2011 - The water level on the Burnt River has risen over the past few days but officials say it has peaked and is now starting on a downward curve.

According to the Environment Canada Real Time Hydrometric Data the Burnt River is currently at 4.853 meters. Critical level for the river is 5.3 meters.

The Burnt River is regularly monitored for flood risk by Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) and the City of Kawartha Lakes.
