City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton seek volunteers to participate in 20,000 Homes Campaign Registery Week
Upwards of 25 volunteers are needed between Monday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 24 in both the City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton. Volunteers will be asked to work 2 hour shifts conducting surveys as part of Registry Week. Teams led by professional service staff and community volunteers will systematically canvass the community and complete a short survey with residents experiencing homelessness.
“The goal of Registry Week is to identify people experiencing homelessness in our communities and gather information on their health and social needs” explains Hope Lee, Manager of Housing Help and CEO of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton Housing Corporation. “Those surveyed will be prioritized for housing and receive appropriate support based on their needs”.
The results of Registry Week will be shared during the Community Debrief 1pm, August 26 at the Coboconk Community Centre. The deadline for volunteer sign up is Friday, August 12, 2016. To volunteer please sign up at www.signup.com/go/20kHomesCKLH
