Completion of Regent Street reconstruction expected by December

November 3, 2105 - LINDSAY – The $1.5 million Regent Street reconstruction project currently ongoing is expected to wrap up by early December.

Originally scheduled to be a four-month project, unfavourable weather and unforeseen circumstances have resulted in a short extension to the completion date.

“There is a significant amount of work being undertaken with this project that will be a huge improvement for residences, motorists and pedestrians who use Regent Street,” explained Corby Purdy, Supervisor of Infrastructure and Design. “We apologize for the delay in completing the project and appreciate everyone’s ongoing patience while we complete the project.”

The project involves a complete reconstruction of Regent Street including both underground infrastructure and surface improvements including curbs, sidewalks and the resurfacing of the road itself.

“Residents and motorists using Regent Street will benefit from the replacement and upgrade of storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, curbs and sidewalks as well as the resurfacing of Regent Street,” said Mr. Purdy.

While the City’s no overnight parking on City streets bylaw is now in effect, Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will not be enforcing the bylaw in construction areas.

The project is expected to be complete by the beginning of December.
