Concerts in the Park celebrates 25th Anniversary

January 19, 2016 - The City of Kawartha Lakes Parks, Recreation & Culture Division is inviting bands to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Concerts in the Park by signing up to perform during the 2016 Summer series.

“There are still a few spaces available for interested bands to perform in the 2016 series,” said Courtney Boyd, Community Development Coordinator. “There are 17 concerts scheduled to take place in 2016 at the Frank Banks Gazebo in Victoria Park, in downtown Lindsay, and concert spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis.”

Over the past 25 years, Parks, Recreation & Culture, in partnership with local bands and sponsors, have provided community members with free concerts in the park during the summer months. These family-oriented concerts have provided an opportunity for individuals to meet, interact and develop community spirit and pride while enjoying and supporting local musical talent.

Concerts in the Park are held Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 2:00-4:00 p.m. beginning July 3 and wrapping up August 31.

“The annual concert series is sponsored by a number of local businesses and would not be possible without the support of local bands and community members alike,” said Ms. Boyd. “We are looking forward to a wonderful 2016 concert series.”

Interested partners and bands are invited to contact Courtney Boyd, Community Development Coordinator at or by calling 705-324-9411 ext. 1306.
