Council approves $1.3 million investment in water and sewer infrastructure

June 22, 2015 - Kawartha Lakes Council has approved a $1.3 million investment to improve water and sewer infrastructure along Colborne Street East in Lindsay.

The work will include the replacement of the existing 300mm cast iron watermain with a 300 mm PVC watermain as well as the replacement of sections of sanitary sewer.

“The Colborne Street East watermain is an integral piece of infrastructure to the Lindsay Distribution System as it provides a main feed to the Verulam Water Tower,” explained Amber Hayter, senior engineering technician with the City. “This section of watermain has a history of breaks.”

The scope of the project runs along Colborne Street East from Verulam Road to St. Patrick Street, and will include new water services to the property line.

The work is scheduled to begin later this summer and be completed by November 30, 2015.
