Council approves $1 million for watermain construction

May 12, 2015 - Kawartha Lakes Council has approved an investment of $1 million for watermain construction from Mary Street to Logie Street on Lindsay Street South beginning later this year.

The scheduled work is the result of a review looking at the growth within the south east area of Lindsay.

“The City of Kawartha Lakes is experiencing growth in that area of Lindsay.  This project will provide capacity and improved water quality for current and future development,” explained Bryan Robinson, Manager of Capital Projects.

The scope of the project will involve the installation of a new watermain that will eliminate an existing dead end resulting in improved water quality and the future ability to isolate sections of the watermain while retaining services.

The work will begin later this summer and is scheduled to be complete by the end of October.
