Family Fun Day - Free Outdoor Winter Activities
January 21, 2010 - The City of Kawartha Lakes Parks, Recreation and Culture Division wants you to get up, go out and be winter active on Monday February 15th.
The City of Kawartha Lakes, Parks, Recreation and Culture Division and Parnell’s Ski Services is promoting physical activity this winter season. By participating in Family Fun Day you will create an opportunity to take the first steps in becoming regularly active.
Ways to Get Up, Go Out and Be Winter Active in The City of Kawartha Lakes include a nice brisk walk, hiking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snow shoeing, skating, swimming and much more!
Parnell’s Ski Services, at Devil’s Elbow will be offering a cross country ski promotion as part of becoming active this winter. This promotion includes a cross country ski rental at the Junior Rate on Sunday February 7th. Devil’s Elbow will provide a discount on the trail pass for 50% off. The Parks, Recreation and Culture Division is hosting a free Family Fun Day in Norland and Little Britain on Monday February 15th, with free public skating following each event. Family Fun Day will be filled with outdoor activities including active games, relay races, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and much more! Join us and increase your physical activity for the day.
“This is a fantastic way for everyone of all ages to be active this winter. There will be cross country skis and snowshoes for anyone who would like to give these sports a try, not to mention all the fun activities,” says Alison McGahey, Community Development Coordinator.
