Film Series launch at the Kawartha Lakes Library

February 2, 2016 - LINDSAY - Film fans along with fans of classic films and books turned into movies will be interested in two new Film Series being offered at the Kawartha Lakes Public Library.

‘Read the Book – Watch the Movie’ will be held on the second Tuesday of the month and will feature a movie based on a special event or celebration.

‘The Classics’ will be held on the second Wednesday of each month and will include classic cinematic features.

“The most difficult task when planning a film series is choosing the films,” said Diane Lansdell, South Area Supervisor, Kawartha Lakes Library. “Working with themes helped put everything in place and I hope we have a variety of films that will interest our audience.”

Read the Book – Watch the Movie will kick off on Tuesday, February 9.

Here is line-up for the new series.

February 9: Celebrate Black History Month
The Color Purple, based on the book by Alice Walker.
March 8: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
