Four new Youth Businesses approved for $5,000 grants from Starter Company Program

February 26, 2015 - KAWARTHA LAKES – The Kawartha Lakes Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre (KLSBEC) is pleased to announce a fourth candidate has been approved for a $5,000 provincial grant to help start their business through the Starter Company Program.

Offered through KLSBEC, the Starter Company Program provides opportunities for young entrepreneurs to acquire training, mentoring and grant money to help them start or expand new businesses.

“We are thrilled to announce that four businesses are taking full advantage of the programs benefits,” said Karyn Dowdall, Youth Entrepreneurship Coordinator, KLSBEC. “We are continuously inviting new applicants to this amazing program. The grant opportunity is a real bonus, but the training and mentoring are invaluable.”

Congratulations to Kawartha Lakes Starter Company participants Ian Morrison from Bowler Beverages, Mark Imrie from Landmark Landscape Design & Build, Kristin McCullough from Frosted Hill Equestrian and Matthew Hutchinson from The Ballooning Company. These young entrepreneurs are building the future for our community.
