Kawartha Lakes Big Bob Channel Bridge to undergo 2016 rehabilitation

February 9, 2016 - BOBCAYGEON – The Big Bob Channel Bridge in Bobcaygeon will undergo a significant rehabilitation this summer.

Kawartha Lakes Council approved the $1.6 million project during their regular Council meeting Tuesday afternoon.

“This will be a major project that will improve the road surface and integrity of the Big Bob Channel Bridge as well as improving the lifespan of the bridge,” said Juan Rojas, Director of Assets and Engineering.

The project will be be a major undertaking with work expected to commence later this spring and be completed by November.

“Throughout the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane, so there will also be motorist access, but people should expect traffic delays, especially during the peak summer months,” Mr. Rojas noted.
