Kawartha Lakes CAO announces resignation

May 13, 2015 - Kawartha Lakes Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Mark Fisher has announced he will resign from his position effective September 30, 2015.

Mr. Fisher made the announcement to Council in closed session on Tuesday afternoon.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Council and staff for their confidence in me, as I have strived to provide superior municipal service for the City of Kawartha Lakes. It has been a privilege,” Mr. Fisher said.

Mr. Fisher joined the City as CAO in September, 2012 and was instrumental in launching the City’s Initiative Management program.

Kawartha Lakes Mayor Andy Letham acknowledged the CAO’s service to the municipality and thanked him for his tireless work.

“It is with mixed feelings that I announce Chief Administrative Officer Mark Fisher will step down from the CAO position in September,” Mayor Letham said. “Since joining the City as CAO in September of 2012, Mark has been a strong advocate for the municipality and a strong voice for rural Ontario communities on numerous boards and associations.

“Nearly one year to the day of his hiring, Mark launched the City’s Initiative Management program which has gone on to be an extremely successful and invaluable program within the City in a very short period of time,” Mayor Letham said. “Mark has always sought to develop capacity, growth and optimism in Kawartha Lakes and for that, and all of his service to our community I say thank you.

“Mark’s contributions to our City and to our staff will be missed and on behalf of all of Council I would like to wish Mark all the very best in all of his future endeavours,” the Mayor added.
