Lindsay Library Branch wins ‘Love Your Library’ Contest

July 6, 2015 - Thanks to the kind words of an avid library user in Lindsay, the Kawartha Lakes Public Library has been named a winner of the SirsiDynix “Love Your Library” Contest.

“This is a wonderful surprise and incredibly rewarding for our staff and me,” said CEO and Chief Librarian David Harvie. “For someone to take the time to offer their heartfelt thoughts and words means everything to us.”

The Library was nominated by Tina, who along with her children, are frequent visitors to the branch.

“Libraries are more than books and publications”, her nomination reads, “Libraries are communities. Libraries are like a touch of home.”

“We couldn’t agree more with Tina,” said Mr. Harvie. “Our libraries shelter us, transform us and redeem us. They are and will continue to be places to rediscover our dreams and travel on new adventures.”

Tina’s entire nomination can be found on the Library’s Facebook page and website at http:www.kawarthalakeslibrary.ca.

Tina will receive a prize of $25 and the Library will receive $250, which will be spent on children’s materials in honour of Tina and her family.
