Local student wins Kawartha Lakes Public Library contest

April 11, 2016 - Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI) student Samantha Holtby was the winner of an ipod Nano in a draw sponsored by Kawartha Lakes Public Library.

Library staff visited LCVI and St.Thomas Aquinas schools to present information about the Public Library to Grade 9 students during their school library orientation session. Students who registered for a library card or were already library card holders were eligible to enter the draw. Through the library’s website (www.kawarthalakeslibrary.ca) students are able to access ebooks and databases to assist with their studies as well as borrow material from any of the library branches throughout Kawartha Lakes.

“This is an excellent opportunity to introduce students to the services available at the library,” comments South Area Supervisor Diane Lansdell. “We plan to invite all the secondary schools in Kawartha Lakes to participate in this program at the beginning of the next school year.”
