March Break @ your library
February 27, 2012 - The City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library has many events planned for children during the March Break.
Brochures outlining events are available at all Library Branches throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes. To register for a program please call the Library that is hosting the particular program of interest.
Highlights of the week include the following.
Children will have the opportunity to create an e-book using MS Word and Paint at our Computer Workshops. Registration is required for this program. Call your local library for dates and times.
Enjoy wonderful storytelling and amazing balloon creations when Mrs. Twist, Balloonologist visits the Dalton Library (705 833-2858) on Monday, March 12 at 11 am and the Woodville Library (705 439-2160) on Monday, March 12 at 2:30 pm.
The Kids on Block puppet troupe will perform on Monday March 12 at the Omemee Library (705 799-5711) at 10:30 am and the Lindsay Library (705 324-5632) at 2 pm and on Thursday, March 15 at 11 am at the Kinmount Library (705 488-3199). Children will enjoy the life size puppets as they present real life situations with a big dash of humour.
Everyone loves magic and “The Great Bobolini” will present a fun filled comedy and magic show for the whole family at the Kirkfield Library (705 438-3331) on Tuesday, March 13 at 11 am, at the Oakwood Library (705 953-9060) on Tuesday, March 13 at 4 pm, at the Dunsford Library (705 793-3037) on Wednesday, March 14 at 11 am, at the Bobcaygeon Library (705 738-2088) on Thursday, March 15 at 2 pm and at the Fenelon Falls Library (705 887-6300) on Friday, March 16 at 11 am.
The Magic of Jeff Hill – Magic that Rocks will be presented at the Lindsay Library (705 324-5632) on Friday, March 16 at 2pm. Jeff grew up in the area and returns to bring his fresh energy to magic, combining it with music, comedy and audience interaction. Jeff has performed across Canada and around the world, thrilling and amazing people everywhere.
Ontario Early Years Centre will present “Family Games” at the Bethany Library (705 277-2321) on Thursday, March 15 at 11 am. A variety of board and literacy games for children up to age 8 years will be featured. Their mobile unit will visit the Lindsay Library (705 324-5632) on Tuesday, March 13 at 10:30 am with toys, a sensory bin and circle time especially for children up to age 6 years.
St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs Jack and Harley will visit the Lindsay Library (705 324-5632) for the popular Read to the Dogs program. Register for your 15 minute session on either Saturday, March 10 or Thursday, March 15 between 10:30 and 12 noon..
As well, craft and story programs, movie nights, scavenger hunt, and St. Patrick’s Day events will be featured at various libraries.There is something for everyone at the Library during the March Break. Call your local library for information today.
