Mayor Andy Letham to hold New Year’s Levee January 1
The Levee will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the Victoria Room at City Hall in Lindsay.
“This is a great opportunity to visit with area residents and welcome in the New Year,” said Mayor Letham. “One of the things I have really worked hard to do as Mayor is spend more time talking with the community and being active in the community. This is a great way to kick off 2016 and to start the year on a really positive note.
“These events are for everyone,” Mayor Letham continued. “I encourage everyone to bring their friends and family, drop in and say hello, and share your ideas and hopes for the future of our City.”
The Mayor’s first annual Levees were held last January in Bobcaygeon and Omemee and both were extremely well attended. This year, MP Jamie Schmale and MPP Laurie Scott will be joining the mayor at the Levee and will provide brief remarks at 11 a.m.
“There are a lot of changes happening and I think this is a great way to get together with residents and business owners across the City in different locations and hearing from people at the grassroots level,” said Mayor Letham.
“There are some very talented and dedicated people in our community who have some great ideas about some things we can be doing and this will be an excellent opportunity to have more discussion and positive dialogue and to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2016.”
