Mayor Letham holding second Annual Mayor’s New Year’s Levee

December 15, 2015 - Members of the public are invited to attend the second annual Mayor’s New Year’s Levee on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the Victoria Room at City Hall.

“It’s important to be accessible to the public,” explained Mayor Andy Letham. “This is a great opportunity for the public to come out and talk with their elected officials, and an opportunity for me to hear from constituents in a more casual setting.”

Also invited to bring greetings will be newly-elected Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton-Brock MP Jamie Schmale and MPP Laurie Scott.

“All levels of government need to work together to support our residents and our businesses,” said Mayor Letham. “I am excited to have Jamie and Laurie join me on January 1, along with Council members.”

Mayor Letham held his first New Year’s Levee in January this year in both Bobcaygeon and Omemee. Despite the less than ideal weather there was a great turnout at both locations.

“Kawartha Lakes is comprised of a number of incredible towns, villages, hamlets and communities, but we are one City, one municipality,” explained Mayor Letham. “It is important for me to hold events such as the New Year’s Levee and Town Hall meetings in different communities.”

The second annual Mayor’s New Year’s Levee will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, January 1, 2016, with formal remarks by Mayor Letham, MP Jamie Schmale and MPP Laurie Scott at 11 a.m.

“I am looking forward to meeting and speaking with everyone,” said Mayor Letham. “It’s a great way to kick-off the New Year and set a positive tone for 2016.”
