Statement from the City of Kawartha Lakes Re: Labour Negotiations
May 17, 2012 - Lindsay – The City of Kawartha Lakes has been in collective bargaining with CUPE Local 855, the union representing our 430 inside and outside workers for the last seven months. In this time, it had been our hope to achieve a negotiated agreement and for the benefit of our taxpayers, residents and businesses.

Peer Tutoring @ the Lindsay Library
May 15, 2012 - The Lindsay branch of the City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library will once again be hosting the successful EAGER READER CLUB during the months of July and August. This is a peer-tutoring club – young readers are paired with student volunteers who provide reading practice as well as encourage the enjoyment of reading. Each pair meets in the library for one hour each week in the summer.
Volunteer Firefighter Toll Road
May 15, 2012 - Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service Station One Volunteer Firefighters will be collecting donations at a toll road at Kent St. W. and St. Joseph Rd. on June 2 from 11:30am – 2:30pm.
Wifi Hotspots @ the Public Library
May 14, 2012 - The City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library is pleased to advise that wireless internet service is now available at three library branches -- Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, and Lindsay.

North St. and Helen St. Construction Update
May 11, 2012 - The City of Kawartha Lakes is undertaking a storm sewer, watermain and road construction project on North Street and Helen Street in the village of Fenelon Falls. The project is essential to update existing infrastructure and to service the new Community Centre and future development.

May 11, 2012 - The Kawartha Lakes Accessibility Advisory Committee presents “Celebration of Accessible Freedom” on Thursday, June 7 from 7-9pm at the Victoria Park Armoury in Lindsay.

May 11, 2012 - “When you park here, you become a part of the community. Your proceeds go to benefit a local charity. So park here and park here often. Together we can do great things.”
Lunch and Learn Seminars
May 11, 2012 - To celebrate Accessibility Awareness Week, the Kawartha Lakes Accessibility Advisory Committee is presenting Lunch and Learn Seminars on the services and financial supports that are available for the older adult and people with disabilities. A representative from Service Canada will be making the presentations.
