Clean up efforts after April 28th wind storm
April 29, 2011 - Fierce winds swept through the City of Kawartha Lakes yesterday downing trees and blowing waste and recycling materials that were placed curbside for collection. The city is appealing to all residents to help clean up any blown waste and recycling that was scattered as a result of yesterday’s wind storm.
Fire Code Conviction
April 28, 2011 - Jeffrey Kremer will be spending an additional 30 days in jail after he plead guilty to charges under the Ontario Fire Code for having a large-scale grow-op.
New fitness center opening
April 27, 2011 - The new fitness center at the Lindsay Recreation Complex will be open to the public as of 6:00am on Monday, May 2.

City moves ahead with an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan
April 20, 2011 - City of Kawartha Lakes Council received an overview of the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) at their special meeting today (Tuesday) and signed the Project Charter, declaring their support of the project.
New Fire Chief announced
April 19, 2011 - Interim CAO Dave Paterson announced to Council today that Mark Pankhurst has been appointed to the position of Fire Chief for the City of Kawartha Lakes. The by-law to appoint Mr. Pankhurst will be presented at the April 26th Council meeting.

April 13, 2011 - The City of Kawartha Lakes proudly supports special events in the community. To assist groups in their promotion of special events, the Economic Development Office manages a “Special Events Economic Development Partnership Fund” in accordance with Council’s policy.
Burnt River water levels have peaked
April 13, 2011 - The water level on the Burnt River has risen over the past few days but officials say it has peaked and is now starting on a downward curve.
