Public information meeting on Bond Street reconstruction

May 15, 2015 - Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend a drop-in information meeting on the City’s proposed Bond Street reconstruction project.

Slated to begin as early as 2016, the public information session will provide an opportunity hear about and see drawings of the proposed work.

If approved by Council, the extent of the project would include new watermains and sewers, as well as curbs, sidewalks and resurfacing Bond Street.

“This is a significant project to improve the overall infrastructure of Bond Street,” explained Corby Purdy, Supervisor of Infrastructure Design and Construction for the City. “This meeting will provide residents with an opportunity to see the scope of the proposed project and ask questions of staff and engineers.”

The meeting will be held Wednesday, May 20 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Victoria Room at City Hall.

“We receive a lot of inquiries as to when Bond Street may be scheduled for work, so we’re hoping for a good turnout to help inform area residents and answer any questions they may have,” Mr. Purdy noted. “The meeting is a drop-in format and City staff along with engineers from WSP Canada Inc. will be available to answer questions.”
