Public Information meeting on Fenelon Falls traffic safety

January 4, 2016 - FENELON FALLS – The public is welcome and encouraged to attend a Public Information meeting on the Fenelon Falls Corridor Study on Thursday, January 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Fenelon Falls Community Centre.

“The study looks at infrastructure improvements and traffic safety throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes Road 121 corridor within Fenelon Falls,” explained Mike Farquhar, Supervisor of Technical Services for the City.

In 2012, the City completed a Transportation Master Plan, which identified the Lindsay Street and Colborne Street corridor in Fenelon Falls, also known as CKL Road 121, as requiring review due to the current operating and development pressures.

“The purpose of the Class Environmental Assessment study will be to identify infrastructure improvements to safety, accessibility within the corridor while maintaining traffic capacity on this critical link in the City’s road network,” said Mr. Farquhar.

Public input is encouraged and will be given consideration during the planning and design of the project. All comments received from the second Public Information Centre will be accepted until January 28, 2016.

“The purpose of this drop-in style Public Information Centre is to allow all interested parties an opportunity to review and comment on the selected Preferred Solution(s) and to discuss the project further with the study team,” said Mr. Farquhar. “We look forward to seeing as many Fenelon Falls residents as possible to discuss this project.”
