Public invited to learn about landfill operations

August 29, 2016 - The 2016 Lindsay Ops Landfill open house is an opportunity for residents to learn about landfill operations, and how the City of Kawartha Lakes is working to protect the environment at the Lindsay Ops Landfill.

The open house will take place Wednesday September 14, at 7 pm in the Victoria Room at City Hall (2nd floor), Lindsay.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet industry experts
  • Review of 2015 site operations
  • Learn about landfill construction
  • Meet Lindsay Ops Public Review Committee
  • See monitoring equipment first hand
  • Enter clear bag give away draw

“Protecting and enhancing our water resources and natural environment is a priority for the city,” explains David Kerr, Manager of Environmental Services. “Managing and designing our landfills properly ensures they will serve our community’s needs while meeting the highest environmental standards for generations to come.”
