Public Library services information meetings scheduled

February 2, 2016 - KAWARTHA LAKES – Members of the Kawartha Lakes Public Library Board will be holding a series of information sessions regarding the future of the City’s library services.

“The Library Board is looking forward to meeting with members of the community to talk about the restructuring of the City’s library services,” said David Harvie, CEO and Chief Librarian.

In December, Mr. Harvie and the Library Board presented a report to Council last fall as part of the City’s ongoing core services review. The report outlined a consolidation of services reducing the number of library branches from the current 17.

“We would like to share with the community our rationale for the restructuring and talk about the future of our library services here in Kawartha Lakes,” said Mr. Harvie.

Three sessions will be held in Carden, Burnt River and Cambray.

The sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Burnt River Community Hall on Wednesday, Feb 10 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Carden Community Hall on Thursday, Feb 11 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Cambray Community Hall on Tuesday, Feb 16 at 7:00 p.m.

For further information about the sessions, contact your local library branch or Chief Librarian.
