Regent Street reconstruction to begin in July

April 14, 2015 - Kawartha Lakes Council has approved an investment of nearly $1.5 million to reconstruct Regent Street in Lindsay.

The four-month project is slated to begin early July and be completed by the end of October, resulting in a number of improvements.

“The project will involve a complete reconstruction of Regent Street including both underground infrastructure and surface improvements including curbs, sidewalks and the resurfacing of the road itself,” explained Corby Purdy, Supervisor of Infrastructure and Design.

Residents and motorists using Regent Street will benefit from the replacement and upgrade of storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, curbs and sidewalks as well as the resurfacing of Regent Street.

During the reconstruction project motorists are encouraged to use Colborne Street West and Elgin Street in order to bypass construction.

During the Tuesday, April 14 Council meeting Council awarded the $1,432,538.20 tender to Accurex Inc. of Peterborough.
