Renovation Update - Lindsay Recreation Complex
March 28, 2011 - Work continued this week on the major renovation project at the Lindsay Recreation Complex.
Physical changes to the facility since the last communiqué include:
Washrooms
Finish mirror and access panel installation
Concessions
T-Bar ceilings and floor installed
Millwork installation starting
Corridor at Elevator
Commence drywall ceiling
Fitness Addition
Final ductwork revisions and duct insulation completed
T-Bar ceiling installed on both floors
Drywall in stairwell and corridor on going
Paint first and second floor drywall finishes
Administration Addition
Parapet framing
Aluminum windows installed
Family B/F Change Room / Shower / Washroom
Ductwork modifications completed
Drywall duct chase and ceiling repairs completed
T-Bar ceiling installed
Floor preparation completed and floor and wall tile started
Plans for the upcoming two weeks include:
Concessions
Millwork installation completed
Final painting
Cove base and ceiling tile installed
Mechanical and electrical finishes completed
Corridor 142 (main floor elevator)
Drywall ceilings and bulkheads completed
Millwork installed
Final painting
Elevator Lobby on 2nd Floor
Drywall taping completed
Painting new walls and bulkheads
Install display case, flooring, base and ceiling

Install dedicated phone line
Complete all outstanding items for final inspection

Continue work on bulkheads
Pool Area
Install aluminum doors (delay due to hardware)
Complete floor tile at east window (delay due to hardware)
Install balance of exterior siding (delay due to hardware)
Paint balance of block and drywall bulkheads (delay due to hardware)
Fitness Addition
Drywall touch ups and taping on both floors and in stairwell to be completed
T-Bar ceilings and millwork installed
Painting finished
Commence flooring, mechanical and electrical finishes
Administration Addition
Louvers re-ducted
Roof parapets completed, low roof drain, roofing on low roof section
Install exterior doors and frame
Completed window frames and glazing to Lobby
Install masonry veneer
Underground plumbing rough-in to start
Prepare subgrade for slab on grade pour
Family B/F Change Room / Shower / Washroom
Tile and flooring, millwork, painting, plumbing and lighting completed
Toilet partitions, accessories and ceiling tiles installed
Final clean up
Deficiency inspection
Current Service Interruptions:
Hoarding at rear of Community Room and in main lobby
Relocation of all land based Fitness classes to the Victoria Park Armoury
Relocation of ramp to main entry
Elevator Access to Community Room unavailable
Closure of controlled-entry door to pool lobby
Detour in place for access to the Community Room.
