Request for voluntary water reduction

November 17, 2015 - BOBCAYGEON – The City’s Water and Wastewater Division is asking residents of Bobcaygeon to participate in a voluntary Water Reduction program due to maintenance at the Bobcaygeon Water Treatment Plant.

Over the next three months, maintenance at the plant will include filter rehabilitation work that will result in parts of the system being temporarily shut down.

The scheduled work will not affect the quality or safety of the water being delivered to the residents.

In order to ensure the City is able to meet the necessary demand, residents are being asked to:

  • Voluntarily reduce their water use over the next 3 months to ensure the water system capacity levels are maintained.
  • Minimize baths, showers, clothes washing and general water use where possible.
  • No washing of driveways and/or parking lots
