Rural road resurfacing project approved for $2.9 million

April 22, 2016 - The City of Kawartha Lakes Council has approved a major road project that involves the resurfacing approximately 25 km of rural roads throughout the City.

The process involves pulverizing of the existing road surface, base repairs, culvert replacements and ditching to prepare the application of gravel. The road will be finished with a flexible pavement (tar and chip) or asphalt product. For a complete listing of roads under this program please visit the City website at

The tenders were awarded to Robert E. Young Construction Ltd. of Selwyn and Royal Paving Ltd. of Lindsay. This project is anticipated to begin in the middle of May and be completed by the middle of September of 2016.
