Update on Lindsay Recreation Complex renovations
February 22, 2011 - Work continued this week on the major renovation project at the Lindsay Recreation Complex.
Physical changes to the facility since the last communiqué include:
Exterior
Complete brick and stone veneer at Fitness
Custom cut and pre-stain wood finishes at Pool windows
Install metal flashings at Aquatic’s & North Exit
Aquatics
Deficiency review and repair and Occupancy testing
Sprinkler tie-in at Lobby & Test, Final installation of Voice / Data
Occupancy
Barrier Free Family Change Room
Demolition commencing once office transfer complete
Blockwork complete
Electrical and plumbing rough in complete
Mechanical rough in and ductwork ongoing
Fitness
Structural wall infill at east elevation
Steel stud & drywall partition installation Drywall bulkheads and walls 70%
Ductwork installation
Window installation complete
Sprinkler and Electrical rough in complete
Geothermal piping and wiring for heating units
Administration
Roof deck
Structural steel adjustments
Steel inspection
Framing parapet 70%

Elevator installation 90% complete

Bulkheads along West, North and part East elevations (night shift)
Pool Area
Install aluminum doors and window trims
Reseal around aluminum windows
Complete floor tile at windows
Re-slope sauna floor
Install balance of exterior siding
Fitness Addition
Install aluminum doors
Provide ductwork revisions at drywall ceilings
Drywall bulkhead and wall installation to proceed
Mechanical and electrical rough-ins completed
Administration Addition
Balance of block work and lintels to be completed
Installation of galvanized sill plates
Aluminum window installation to commence
Family B/F Change Room
Drywall and cement board wall coverings to be completed
Ductwork revisions on hold until redesign finalized
Drywall and T-bar ceilings on hold until ductwork redesign finalized
Current Service Interruptions:
- Hoarding at new entry to Aquatics addition, rear of Community Room and in main lobby
- Relocation of all land based Fitness classes to the Victoria Park Armoury
- Relocation of ramp to main entry
- Elevator Access to Community Room unavailable
- Closure of controlled-entry door to pool lobby
- Detour in place for access to the Community Room.
