Accessibility Plans

— filed under:

The purpose of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (ODA 2005) is to improve opportunities for persons with disabilities and to provide for their involvement in the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to their full participation in the life of the province. To this end, the ODA mandates that each municipality of over 10,000 persons prepare an annual accessibility plan.

This is the sixth year (2009) a plan has been prepared by the City of Kawartha Lakes. The report describes the measures that the City has taken in the past, and the measures that the City will take during 2009 to identify, remove and prevent barriers to persons with disabilities who use the facilities and services of the City, including staff.
