Notification of two Ministry of Transportation road projects affecting the City of Kawartha Lakes

Please be advised that we have received notification of two projects being carried out by the Ministry of Transportation that will affect motorists in our municipality:

1. Resurfacing of Highway 7A from Highway 35 to Bethany

The pavement will be resurfaced using Cold In-place recycling technology on Highway 7A from Highway 35 to Bethany.  Culverts in poor condition will be replaced.

This project will be tendered in anticipation of construction in spring 2016 and be completed in fall 2016.

During construction, Highway 7A will be reduced to a single lane on weekdays from ½ hour after sunrise to ½ hour before sunset. Traffic will be guided through the closure by flagging operation.

For further information please contact Shane Cassidy, Contract Administrator at 905-376-5451.

2. Bridge replacement over Pearns Creek  (just South of Pearns Rd.) on Highway 35

Construction will begin May 10 and end November 30, 2016.

Only one lane will be available for traffic and will be regulated with traffic lights. For further information please contact Klaas Hulsman, Project Manager at 289-253-8124.
