In Class Presentations

For elementary and high school students.

Public education encourages teachers to invite them into the class rooms to share and educate students regarding areas such as:

  • Fire Extinguishers and how they are used
  • Smoke alarms and appropriate placement with the dwelling
  • Stop, Drop, and Roll,
  • Planning a Fire Escape for your home
  • What to do in an emergency situation
  • Kitchen Safety
  • Community Events

Classrooms/pre-schools/Other Children Programs - Fire personnel come into your classroom or meeting room and talk informally about fire safety for 30 minutes. Personnel will wear uniforms, and bring protective gear and air packs. This information may include a tour of a fire engine.

The older students will be able to experience how to extinguish a controlled fire with a fire extinguisher and learn the proper procedures involved.

Community events – Fire personnel are always grateful to be invited to community or public events. Here they can be approached by guests who are looking for Fire related information.

Requesting presentations - These presentations can be requested by calling the Fire Prevention at 705-324-5731 extension 545. When you call, please be ready to give the following information: your name, address, and phone number, the type of presentation you are requesting, a date (and alternate) and time for the presentation, how many will attend, and what the primary age group will be.
