How to perform CPR

Adult procedure

Shake shoulders and shout:

No response or effective breathing and the victim is turning blue - apply Hands Only CPR.

If you have taken CPR education perform traditional CPR (ventilations and compressions

NOTE:

  • Apply compressions in the center of the victim’s chest (Hard and Fast);
  • 15 chest compressions – at a rate of 100 per minute

Infant and small child CPR

Support the infant's head - slightly tilted back

Normal-sized breaths for children - smaller puffs for infants.

Tips of index and middle fingers

At least 100 per minute
1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Breath.
(Breath interposed after 5th compression)

Child (1-8 years)

Heel of one hand

At least 100 per minute
1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Breath.
(Breath interposed after 5th compression)
