Kawartha-Haliburton Renovates Program

The City of Kawartha Lakes is participating in the Ontario Renovates Component of the Investment in Affordable Housing for Ontario – 2014 Extension which was developed to assist low-to moderate-income homeowners improve their living conditions and/or make accessibility modifications.

Kawartha-Haliburton Renovates (KHR) provides a forgivable loan to a maximum of $10,000 for repairs such as roofs, plumbing, heating, foundations, wells, septic systems, etc. A grant to a maximum of $5,000 is also available for modifications to reduce physical barriers such as ramps, handrails, chair and bath lifts, countertop height adjustments, etc.

Applicants must own their own home.  The market value of their home must be at or below $350,430.  The applicant’s household income cannot exceed the limits in the table below.

We will accept applications until May 12, 2017.  Eligible applications will be considered for funding on a priority basis considering both income and the type of repair/modification.  As in previous years, a complete application is one that is received along with all required supporting documents as listed on the last page of the application.
