Special programs for children and their families at the Lindsay Library (705 324-5632) include:
1-2-3 Baby’s On My Knee, a program for boys and girls up to age 12 months with their parent or caregiver. This session runs on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:15 am from September until May.. It’s never too early to introduce your baby to the wonderful world of books and reading. Together you will discover the joy of songs, fingergames, tickle rhymes, simple books and bouncing rhymes.
Small Oneders, a program for boys and girls age 12 to 24 months with their parent or caregiver. This program is held on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am from September until May. A love of books and reading is a gift that lasts a lifetime. Share this gift with your toddler as together you explore the world of picture books, rhymes, songs, and fingergames. Puppets, a variety of storytelling methods and crafts are enjoyed.
Storytime, a program for boys and girls age 3 – 5 years, is held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:45 am from September until May.. Theme-based programs include stories, songs and crafts. The children are encouraged to be a little more independent and participate in the program “on their own” with parents / caregivers close at hand.
Family Storytime, a program for the whole family, is held on Friday mornings at 10:30 am from September until May. A variety of storytelling methods including puppets, felt stories and poetry add up to fun for the whole family.
Science Experiments program held once a month on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm. Simple science experiments are presented to children age 7 years and up. Enrolment is limited. Please call the Library for session dates and times.
Art Creations 101 is held the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. A fun, interactive introduction to various art forms such as stained glass and weaving, features demonstrations in addition to hands-on projects for children age 7 years and up. Enrolment is limited. Please call the Library for session dates and times.
Read to the Dogs, with St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dogs. This program is held on selected Saturdays from 10:30 am – 12 noon. Please call the Library for session dates and times and to register for your 15 minute session.
