Parks, Recreation and Culture services deliver benefits that enhance the quality of life in Kawartha Lakes and reflect the unique interests of local communities and the diverse range of needs and lifestyles. With the active and informed involvement of the community, the municipality and other public and private interests provide services that contribute to a healthy community, a vibrant culture, a strong economy and sustainable environment.

The City of Kawartha Lakes is an active and flourishing community where parks, recreation and culture services are an essential component of the City’s commitment to offering a preferred place to live, visit, work, and play.

Lindsay Recreation Complex Pool Shut Down July 2, 2017-October 1, 2017

The Pools at the Lindsay Recreation Complex will be closed from July 2, 2017 to October 1, 2017 for planned mechanical and drainage replacements.

There will not be great visual evidence of the work that is completed except for the tile markings, large pool grouting and perimeter repairs. The majority of the work is being done in the mechanical room and underneath the floor of the small pool.

The summer months were chosen for this project as there is outdoor access to swimming - (lakes and back yard pools). In addition, there is lower pool utilization at the Lindsay Recreation Complex during the summer period; making it a better time of year to close.

Programming and staffing at Forbert Memorial Pool in Bobcaygeon (16 River Park Road, Bobcaygeon- off Mill Street, east of Hwy. 36) has been increased. Forbert Memorial Pool will allow for complimentary use by Lindsay Recreation Complex members. All swim only memberships will be extended for a term equal to the duration of the project. In addition, the Days Inn in Lindsay (Angeline St. directly behind the LRC) has a small, unguarded pool that is available for public use.
