Camps

Parks, Recreation & Culture has been offering camps in the community for over 20 years! We have provided thousands of kids summer fun, friendship and adventure. Sports, swimming, skating, fitness and tons of games and activities will keep the kids busy once again this summer.

We strive to provide fun and active programs that promote healthy lifestyles, community involvement and to develop positive experiences for children.

2016 Summer Camp – Registration Information

Registration starts Monday, May 9, 2016 at 9:00am.

Register early, camps fill up quickly.

Registration is processed on a first come first served basis. To register please complete and return a 2016 Summer Camp Registration form. Registration will be confirmed upon receipt of completed form. Space is limited and we are not able to reserve space. Payment must be made at time of registration.

Once registration has been confirmed any changes/cancellations are subject to the cancellation policy below.

Absent/No Show

There are no refunds for illness, no-shows or last minute cancellations.

Cancellation Policy

The Division reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient registration. In these cases a full refund/credit will be issued. Refunds/credits for any other reason are subject to approval and a 15% (minimum $5.00) administration fee.

All refund requests must be made in writing.

Drop Off/Pick Up

Campers can be dropped off between 8 – 9 am inside the Fleming Fieldhouse. Camp programming starts at 9 am and runs until 5 pm. Campers may be picked up between 4 and 5 pm inside the Fleming Fieldhouse.

Sign In & Out

All children must be signed in and out daily by an authorized adult, 16 years of age or older. If you feel your child is able to walk or bike themselves to and from camp, please provide a note to the Camp Supervisor giving your permission for your child to sign themselves in and out daily.

Attendance

For your child’s safety if your child is going to be absent from camp please call 705-324-9411 x 1307 and leave a message with the date, child’s first and last name and camp they are registered for.

Payment

Payment in full is due, at the latest, one week before the camp program begins. Payment can be made in person at the Parks, Recreation & Culture Administration Office or Lindsay Recreation Complex by cash, cheque, credit card or debit card.

Payment can be made by phone with Visa or MasterCard by calling 705-324-9411 x 1364, 1365, 1307.

Sport and Swim (7 -12 years)

The perfect camp for children  who love the water, this camp includes traditional sports camp activities as well as Red Cross Instructor certified swimming lessons each morning.

Sport and Swing (7 -12 years) (Golf)

In partnership with the Lindsay Golf & Country Club, this program will provide golf instruction with a PGA of Canada teaching professional.

Sport and Skate (8 -10 years) (Hockey)

In addition to Sports Camp activities, this camp also includes 75 minutes of daily on-ice power skating and hockey skill instruction.

Little Explorers (4 - 6 years)

A camp for younger children, which includes active games, crafts, outdoor play and community outings that will introduce your child to the summer camp experience. This camp includes weekly visits to the Lindsay Library, swimming and the option of ice skating.

Creative Camp (7-12 years)

Based out of the Lindsay Recreation Complex, campers will enjoy arts, crafts, games and more.  Special guests will introduce campers to new activities; they will participate in daily fun swims, an option to ice skate and a weekly bus/trip or special event.

Sport and Smash Camp  (8-12 years) (Tennis)

In additional to all the great Sports Camp activities, this camp includes 90 minutes of daily tennis instruction at Memorial Park, Lindsay.

Sports Camp (7 -12 years)

Campers will have the opportunity to get active with a variety of sports and games. Each day campers will participate in sport instruction, drills and scrimmages.  Participants will enjoy a daily swim and a weekly bus trip/special event as well as have the option to ice skate.

What to Bring to Camp

  • Lunch, snacks and drinks (no nut products please)
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Running shoes (no sandals/crocs)
  • Sunscreen and hat
  • Clothing appropriate for the weather and activities
  • Swimsuit, towel, extra t-shirt and bag for wet clothing (if swimming or for water play)
  • Skates and helmet (helmets are mandatory)
