The City of Kawartha Lakes Adopt-a-Trail Program has been established as a public service program for volunteers to ensure a clean and safe trail network throughout the Municipality. It is a way for environmentally conscious groups and individuals to contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more beautiful environment.
The Adopt-a-Trail program offers the opportunity for individuals and organizations to contribute to the community and become recognized for their efforts towards a clean and healthy trail network. With over 300 kilometers of trails to maintain throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes, the Parks, Recreation & Culture Division is grateful for the support of volunteers who help sustain our vast trail system.
The City of Kawartha Lakes has numerous unique kilometers of trail to choose from. The Parks, Recreation & Culture Division staff will assist in finding the most suitable trail for your needs, or for a listing and description of trails in your area, please visit www.trailsforhealth.ca
What is Involved?
Groups, schools, individuals or corporate organizations are encouraged to adopt a selected trail or area for a minimum of three years, visiting the trail at least two times per year. A sign will be erected on the trail bearing the name of the group or individual.
