Kenny Butterill

Genre: Alt-Country, Roots Folk/Blues

Songwriter/producer Kenny Butterill will be back with us to open the Concerts in The Park Series for the City of Kawartha Lakes, as he continues to support his most recent album “TROUBADOUR TALES” which has garnered rave reviews. Over the past two years Butterill has toured Europe, the USA and Canada with almost 100 appearances. Critics say the long anticipated CD, which has 20 world class guests including Donovan, has a sound and feel that is true to Butterill’s legacy of delivering “rootsy, folksy, bluesy, alt-country, feel good music”. If you like early Dire Straits, Gordon Lightfoot or John Prine you’ll like Kenny Butterill. He will be joined by some of his great Kawartha Lakes musical friends and special guests at this inaugural 2016 Concert in the Park. L’ll Big Band

Genre: Big Band

June 2004 saw the birth of a 12 piece Big Band; hence the name L’ll Big Band. However, as is usually the case over the years, the band grew up and into a full compliment of 17 musicians.

Active in the community by performing for charitable events and community events, the band also plays for dances and ceremonial occasions.

The members of the band represent a variety of backgrounds but share a knowledge and love of music. Over the years the membership has changed, but the band has continued to grow in repertoire and quality.

PASSPORT is a Classic Rock Band that performs regularly throughout Southern Ontario, and features founding member and Kawartha Lakes native Gord Miller on Vocals. Keyboards & Guitar,  John Woodhouse on Vocal & Bass Guitar & Roger Humphries on Vocal & Drums. Many fine musicians have been an integral part of this band since its inception 24 years ago, and many wonderful friends and fans have enjoyed its music many hundreds of times over the years. 

Featuring music from such artists as the Beatles, CCR, the Byrds, the Rolling Stones, John Mellencamp, Van Morrison, the Who, Bob Dylan, Blue Rodeo, and many more favourite artists, Passport always over-delivers on great tunes you recognize and love.

Husband and wife duo Armand and Juanita White are returning to the series for their fifth consecutive year!

Performing all your favourite country, east coast and oldies tunes, their show is bound to have you tapping your toes and bopping to the beat

Red, White and AceRed, White and Ace

Genre: Contemporary/Folk/Rock

Three Lindsay natives who have performed in several groups over the past fifty years teamed up in January 1980 and played their music throughout the area until June 1983. A 30-year reunion on February 2, 2013 sparked another series of performances, both public and private, despite the fact Ace now resides in the Fergus area. The music could be called “ The music could be called “contemporary folk” or “folk rock”,  fits their instrumentation, and allows them to demonstrate their harmonic voices. The tastes run from Gordon Lightfoot to John Prine, from the Good Brothers to Crosby, Stills and Nash, with a few originals thrown in. The group features “Red” John Gemmill – 12-string guitar, vocals, Geoff White- 6-string guitar, vocals and Len “Ace” Parker – bass guitar and vocals.

Northline

Genre: Country, Blues 50’s & 60’s, Rock & Roll

Northline features the talent of Hal Turner on guitar and vocals, HH Banks on bass and vocals and Boo Lynne on drums and vocals.

This group has performed at a variety of local venues and now are bringing their fun, energy filled show back to the Concerts in the Park series.

Genre: Playing music from the 60’s to present day

New to the series, Garage Escape has been performing together for many years. Playing hits from legendary bands such as CCR, The Eagles, The Beatles and The Hollies to name just a few. The band features, Tom- Lead Guitar/Vocals, Don- Lead Vocals/Guitar, Marco-Guitar/Mandolin, Derrick-Bass/Vocals, Mike-Harmonica/Vocals and Lee-Drums/Vocals.

Genre: Country/Irish & Bluegrass

Lead vocalist/banjo player Gord Magee has toured with Scottish Tenor John McDermott and completed four International Tours entertaining Armed Forces Personnel based throughout Europe. Gord is joined by lead/steel guitarist/vocalist Al Marshal who toured  Europe with Gord, percussionist Monty Mills, bass guitarist/vocalist Barb Morrison and celebrated Saxophone virtuoso  Felix the Kat Xuereb. The flyers will perform many of your favourites guaranteed to get your hands clapping and your toes tapping. Come on out and join them for a great afternoon of entertainment.

Side StreetSide Street

Genre: Rock, Country & Blues

Side Street is a local Lindsay band with a personality that reflects their passion for Rock, Country and Blues while directing energy to their crowds and friends in their small town. Fueled by a mutual interest in music, band members include Joe Warehan on lead guitar, Jake Norris- lead vocals, Ross Janes on bass guitar and Larry Parker on drums. Playing together for four years, they just clicked, they perform to full house local bars where dancing is a must! Performances not only include local bars but charity events, BBQ’s and outdoor events.

Random Selection, formed in July 2015, is a 6 member band from the Lindsay area: Melissa Claridge (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Lawrence Gagnon (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Paul Claridge (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Kyle Hurren (Guitar/Vocals), Joe Hiddink (Bass Guitar) & Darryl Adams (Drums).

A wide variety of musical styles is to be expected as they serve up classic and modern rock with a pinch of country. Come out and enjoy their show as they play music by artists from the 60's to present such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Blondie, Stevie Nicks, The Tragically Hip, The Black Keys, The Sheepdogs, Tracy Chapman, Dwight Yoakam & Miranda Lambert to name a few.

Nathan BottomleyGenre: Acoustic/Pop/Contemporary

At a young age Nathan Bottomley took up a large interest in music. Over time he has developed a passion for music and continues to strive and better himself. He plays guitar and sings as a solo artist primarily in a variety of places. He has had a variety of influences including: Mark Hall, John Mayer, Chris Tomlin, and Ed Sheeran. Each of these people have allowed him to create and shape his own style of music. Nathan is also currently leading worship at his local church. Rezonator hails from Lindsay, Ontario consisting of Frank Watt, JP Hovercraft, Chris Hiney and Brent Farrow. The four met while working on an album and video for country artist Teak Rivers. Their music is an energetic blend of progressive rock, blues and classical sounds. Listeners are treated to familiar favourites, rarely heard B-side offerings as well as thoughtfully crafted original music. An exciting stage delivery and tasteful sound may make Rezonator one of Kawartha’s best kept secrets.
