Public Works
Public works services have historically and consistently been at the core of municipal government in Ontario, providing public infrastructure and other “hard” services that are absolutely critical for the overall functionality of a municipality.
The Public Works Department of the City of Kawartha Lakes is divided into four divisions: Environmental Services, Engineering, General Operations, and Fleet Services. The department provides core services and infrastructure such as roads and bridges, municipal engineering, waste management, fleet maintenance, and water and wastewater systems.
The Public Works Department strives to provide residents and taxpayers with quality services. Those who have concerns or complaints regarding any of our public works services are encouraged to first contact their nearest Municipal Service Centre for help, direction, and advice. This is also the most effective way to ensure public works issues are recorded and tracked in our system, and subsequently forwarded to the most appropriate personnel for action.
