Winter Operations And Noise
Sometimes we receive noise complaints from residents regarding snow plowing and removal operations. Regretfully, there is no way to avoid this problem. Sidewalks and road clearing operations are undertaken day and night in order to quickly and efficiently provide safe passage for motorists and pedestrians.
You can help us serve you better this winter:
- Garbage and Recycling Boxes – Please do not place your garbage or recycling box on top of snow banks
- Driveway Parking – To ensure efficient sidewalk plowing, make sure that your car is parked well within your driveway. Please do not let it extend over onto the street or sidewalk.
- Clearing snow on your property – When clearing snow from your driveways or walkways, please do not push or throw it on the road – you can be fined for such actions. If you hire a contractor to clear your driveway, please ensure that they do not push snow onto the roadway either.
- Play it safe! Don’t let your children build forts in snow banks near roads. They could get hurt by the snow plow.
- Don’t park on the roadway! Cars parked on the roadway hinder snowplowing efforts and may result in the plow not being able to clear your street.
