4 bag weekly limit.  40 lbs or 18 kgs per bag.  All extra bags must be tagged with $3.00 bag tags.

Hazardous waste materials will not be collected curbside.

Your weekly recycling collection limit is 4 cubic yards of recyclables or 4 roll-out carts.4cartlimit.gif

Collection Musts!

Please ensure all container recycling is rinsed of all residues.

Make sure all cardboard is broken down into manageable bundles no larger than the size of a green box.  Maximum size 2ft X 2ft X 2ft or 61cm X 61cm X 61cm.

Oversized materials hinder the operation of collection vehicles and will be left behind. Bagged recycling will not be collected.

By-Law 2007-024- Serious about diversion!

The City of Kawartha Lakes Solid Waste By-Law 2007-024 requires that commercial loads contain no more than 20% divertible materials.  Commercial operators who fail to comply will receive a written warning for the first offence; further non-compliance will result in significantly increased tipping fees.

Too much garbage and recycling?

If your business is producing more than the weekly set out limit there are private waste haulers who are equipped to handle the larger quantities.  The City’s waste By-law 2007-024 ensures that as much waste is diverted from the landfill as possible. All commercial waste haulers are familiar with the By-law and must comply in order to use City landfills.
