Is It Out on Time?7oclock.jpg

Curbside set out time is 7:00 AM (6:00 AM in some downtown cores). The truck may not always come at the same time every week.

What Size Is It?

  • 2 garbage bag weekly limit
  • 40 pounds or 18 kilograms per garbage bag

GarbagebagLimit.jpgOver-sized bags count as two bags of garbage. Additional pre-paid bag tags are available at all City Municipal Service Centres and participating retail locations.

Is it Contained?

You are responsible for your garbage and recycling until it is collected. To keep animals out of your garbage, please place material in a garbage can or box with a lid without bungee cords. Please do not spray bags with bleach or cayenne pepper; it’s a safety hazard to the collectors.

Is Your Containment System Clearly Marked?

If using a permanent animal proof collection box, ensure it is clearly marked when there are items to be collected from May to October. Shared containment systems require house numbers on the inside of the lid and must be no more than 7 ft or 213 cm from the travelled portion of the road.

Is it Curbside Garbage?

The following items will not be collected at the curb and can be taken to any City landfill:

  • Construction/demolition (wood, drywall, carpet, tiles, piping, etc.)

Residential Hazardous Waste must be taken to a Household Hazardous Waste Depot.
