Large Item and Appliance Curbside Collection

Purchase a ‘Large Item’ sticker at a cost of $5.00 and attach to each item. Stickers are available at City Municipal Service Centres and other participating retail locations.  Save your time and fuel - the same fee applies to items brought to a City Waste Management Facility (landfill).

The following items will be collected as part of the large item and large appliance curbside collection:

Stoves, washers, dryers, furniture, couches, tables, chairs, microwaves, TV’s, computers monitors, Hi-Fi stereos and mattresses.

Save $5.00 and bring TVs and Hi-Fi stereos to the landfill for electronics recycling at no charge.

Freon Items

In addition to the $5.00 ‘Large Item’ sticker, appliances containing Freon must also be tagged with a pre-paid ‘Freon Appliance’ sticker at a cost of $20.00 per item (total cost of $25.00).

The $20.00 covers the cost of removing Freon before disposal.  Only appliances with Freon removed by a licensed technician and that are certified ‘Freon Free’ do not require a $20.00 sticker.

Freon items include:
Refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and household water coolers.

All items with a door, must have the door removed to be collected.
