Leaf and Yard Waste

Leaf bag and rake

Leaf and yard waste is collected at the curb in the Spring and Fall, and accepted free of charge year round at all landfill sites for residents only. (Commercial customers will be charged applicable tipping fees.)

All leaf and yard waste must be set out in paper bags or neatly bundled; no plastic bags.  If the material does not fit into a paper yard waste bag, or is set out on your regular waste collection day, it will not be collected.

Help keep our leaf and yard material clean!

No waste, rocks, construction debris, or recyclables in collection bags, please.

Items Not Accepted at the Curb

  • Christmas trees
  • Grass clippings
  • Stumps and yard waste over 3 inches in diameter and 36 inches in length (7.5 cm x 91.4 cm)
  • Soil and sod

Bring these to a landfill site. Charges may apply.

Did you know... leaf and yard waste collected at the curb during the designated collection dates or dropped off at any Waste Management Facility (landfill) is composted?  Composting this material means that it can be used as a product and put to better use, while working to achieve the City’s target diversion rate of 65.  Thank you to residents for your continued waste diversion efforts.
