Low Income Seniors/Disabled Persons Programs

A tax rebate is granted by Council to eligible senior/disabled property owners of $175. The eligibility information and applications are available by following this link and may be submitted electronically by attaching scanned copies of your documents to the email created when selecting the “SUMBIT” button. Application forms are available at all Municipal Service Centres.

The deadline to apply for this program is June 30, 2016. Successful applicants will receive a credit applied to future tax installments. Credit balances will be applied to future installments as the City will not be issuing refunds for this program.

Vacancy Tax Rebate

This program is available to commercial and industrial property owners with vacant unit(s) for at least three consecutive months. The deadline to apply is February 28 annually for the previous year.

Application for Tax Reduction

If your house, or another building on your property was damaged by fire or if there was demolition, you may qualify for a property tax reduction. You must apply for a tax reduction - the deadline for applications is February 28, 2017 for the 2016 taxation year.

Registered Charity Tax Rebate

This program is available to registered charitable organizations renting space in commercial and industrial property. The deadline to apply is February 28 annually for the previous year.
